Todd’s Two Cents – Retirement Center

This week my friend and I went to the retirement center here in our hometown and played Christmas songs for the folks there. I’m super glad my friend asked me to join him. We played “Rudolph” and “O Come All Ye Faithful”, etc. Parenthetically my favorite one to sing is “O Holy Night” – which I did sing in an empty church this year before the service (couldn’t help myself) and “Winter Wonderland” just love coming out of the chorus, “Later on, we’ll conspire, as we dream by the fire.”

We played the old rockin’ hymn “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen”. I like this one as you can really put a good beat to it and it’s fun to sing. After that we sang another one and someone said, “Let’s sing, God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen”. I smiled at my friend as we sang it again. I was trying to decide if the fellow who asked for it again, forgot we’d just sang it, really liked it that much so he asked for it again or if he was just messing with us to see if we’d play it again.

Then I began to think it wouldn’t be long till I was living at the retirement center. I look foreward to it. They have a cafeteria where they make your food! And you don’t have to clean the house, only your room. Anyway, all in all a fun little holdiay event. Always fun to play and sing songs.

Happy Holidays,

Todd
